Wheelin' Sportsmen began at the NWTF in October 2000 and provides all people with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. With more than 50 million people with disabilities nationally, Wheelin' Sportsmen fills a significant void through hunting and shooting events.
Local North Carolina chapters host Wheelin' Sportsmen events across the state that help participants gain a sense of independence by learning to safely stay active in the outdoors. Event participants can enjoy activities like hunting, fishing and shooting. In addition to local chapter events, Wheelin' Sportsmen hosts an assortment of other national events.
NWTF hunting events provide participants an opportunity they may not be able to have on their own due to lack of land access, insufficient knowledge of how to safely return to the outdoors after injury, or lack of needed assistance. Oftentimes, the knowledge and experience gained at one of our events allows the participants to continue hunting on their own throughout the year. Get your membership today.
